How to get to Morzine.

Hire a car from the Swiss side of Geneva Airport. It's a false economy to get one from the French side as you will have to pay extra to travel on the Swiss roads and essential items like tyre chains are not included if you hire from the French side. It's also a major problem to take the car back as there are no signs for car rental returns.

When you leave the airport follow the signs to "France"Keep following them until you get the option to follow signs to Chamonix then follow those. Pass through the customs booths and continue towards Chamonix. After about 5 minutes you will be asked for 1.70 Euros at the toll booths. Take the first right just after the toll booths. At the T-junction traffic lights turn left.Take the second right turn signposted "Samoens" and "Le Vallee Vert". Now just keep folllowing the signs to "Samoens".(Don't be distracted by signs for "Chamonix")

After about 20 minutes and countless roundabouts and villages you will enter "Tanninges". Just before you get there you will see a big "Super U" store on the left. Pass over the bridge and follow the main road as it turns sharply to the left at the end of the village. Now you are following the signs to Morzine. After about 20 minutes you'll enter "Les Gets". Keep following the signs to Morzine. After another 10 minutes you'll enter Morzine.

To get to Petit Pleney (Our appartment)

There's a garage on the right just before you enter the centre of town. (Garage Marullaz) and the road to
the Appartment goes up the side of the garage just before the garage. Follow the road right up to the top
and then round to the right. The appartment is right in front of you. Ours is number 2.

To get to La Boucherie Derriere (Our house)

Continue into town and whenyou get the chance to keep right, do so. This is technically a right turn.
Continue past the restaurants and ski shops the at the roundabout go staight ahead and under the brigde. At
the next roundabout turn right and then when the road turns sharply left keep going staight on. Go up the
valley past the Nyon cable car and when the road narrows you have entered "La Boucherie"

Our chalet is just at the back of "La Boucherie" on the left.

Warning!

Although Roundabouts are a "norm" in the UK they are still relatively new to France. Consequently French drivers have no idea as to how to indicate when going round them. In fact that doesn't just apply to roundabouts! Please don't rely on or believe any indications! (They don't stand up in law in the UK and there's no chance in France!)
